A man has been arrested accused of killing a grandmother in her East Oak Cliff home.
Shelia Prater, 45, was found dead Sunday night in her home on Key Ridge Drive by her adult son, Travonte Prater. He called 911 when he couldn't get in touch with her.
“From the moment I pulled up, I was on the phone with dispatch. They helped keep me calm all the way up until the point of me going in,” Travonte told FOX 4 in a Monday interview. “I had to know. I had to see. I had to act.”
Police have arrested Victor Williams, a man that Sheila had been dating. He's been charged with her murder.
Sheila was a mother of two grown children and five grandchildren.
Williams’ bond has been set at $250,000.
