Irving announces its new police chief
IRVING, Texas - The city of Irving has selected Derick Miller as its next chief of police.
Miller is currently the chief of the Carrollton Police Department.
He started as a reserve officer in Carrollton in 1992.
The city council is scheduled to confirm Miller next week.
He is set to officially join the department on May 31.
