Frisco PD cadet dies after medical emergency during final course
FRISCO, Texas - A cadet with the Frisco Police Department died after suffering a medical emergency during his last physical exam at the police academy.
Police say Cadet Christopher David Murray died on Thursday after being hospitalized on November 16. He suffered a medical emergency during the final physical training to complete the police academy course.
Murray was being treated for rhabdomyolysis according to a YouCaring fundraiser. By the time he got to the hospital, he was in acute kidney failure.
During his time in the hospital, the police academy still awarded him with a graduation certificate in absentia.
Murray began his career with the Frisco Police Department as a police and fire dispatcher in 2013 and started the police academy in July. He leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter and a wife that is expecting a little boy.
