Fred Couch gets probation for impersonating an officer

FORT WORTH, Texas - Fred Couch, the father of Ethan Couch, was sentenced to a year of probation for impersonating a police officer.
A Tarrant County jury found him guilty of the offense on Wednesday. Couch was charged in July of 2014 following a disturbance call to North Richland Hills police. When police arrived at the house, he identified himself as a Lakeside police officer.
Couch’s teenage son, Ethan, killed four people in a drunken driving crash in 2013. His attorneys used the infamous “affluenza” defense and convinced a court to give him only probation.
Ethan Couch is currently serving a two-year jail sentence for violating his probation and fleeing to Mexico with his mother.
