Former Richardson mayor, husband found guilty on bribery, wire fraud charges

The former mayor of Richardson and her husband have been found guilty in a public corruption case alleging fraud and bribery while she was in office.

Laura Jordan was Laura Maczka when she was elected mayor in 2013. She served one term and later married developer Mark Jordan.

On Wednesday, they were each found guilty on four counts, including bribery and wire fraud charges.

According to court records, he paid his future wife thousands of dollars in exchange for her city council vote in favor of zoning changes for his development.

They each face up to 20 years in federal prison.
