Three firefighters were hurt Friday morning battling a large apartment fire in Irving.

The two-story complex was burning on Belt Line and Rochell roads, north of the Irving mall. Flames spread to the attic and heavy smoke could be seen rising from the windows.

Crews were able to successfully contain the fire to just one building, but several firefighter were hurt in the process.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Two others are being treated at the station.

About 10 units were either heavily damaged or destroyed. It is not yet clear how many people were displaced or what caused the fire.
