Firefighters from six departments fight fire at senior living apartment complex

Residents of a senior living apartment complex were safely evacuated after a fire started around 2:30 Sunday morning in Desoto.

A tenant pulled the fire alarm after waking up to the sight and smell of smoke at the complex in the 2400 block of Bolton Boone Dr.

The fire was contained to the single unit. The Red Cross also assisted the residents.

Firefighters from Desoto, Lancaster, Ovilla, Cedar Hill, Duncanville and Dallas showed up to help.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was hurt.
