Early-morning flooding in Houston area

A flash flood watch is in effect until 8 a.m. Wednesday for Chambers, Fort Bend, Harris and Liberty counties.

A areal flood warning is in effect for Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties until 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.

A flood warning is in effect for the following bodies of water:

  • Greens Bayou near U.S. Highway 59
  • Greens Bayou near Ley Road
  • South Mayde Creek near Greenhouse Road

Drivers were forced to navigate through flood waters on Tuesday morning after more than eight inches of rain fell in some areas. Northwest Harris County was especially hard-hit throughout the late night into with 6-8 inches hitting over the last 24 hours. Expect heavy downpours moving through our area throughout the day.
