DFR: Downtown Dallas parking garage fire was arson

Dallas Fire-Rescue determined the fire near a Downtown Dallas hotel was intentionally set.

Wednesday morning guests at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Ervay and Commerce streets were evacuated as a fire burned on the roof of an adjacent parking garage.

It took about 100 firefighters to get the three-alarm fire under control.

No one was hurt but hotel guests had to wait outside of their rooms for several hours overnight until the building was declared safe.

Fire investigators are treating it as an arson case. They’re trying to determine who was responsible.
