Children removed from ‘deplorable' Euless home, police say
EULESS, Texas - Euless police said officers found three young children living in “deplorable” conditions with seven adults. All of those adults are now facing charges.
The children were taken from the home in the 300 block of E. Fuller Drive on Oct. 17. Police said officers discovered them while conducting a welfare check.
The children – an 8-year-old boy, his 6-year-old sister and their 4-year-old cousin – were taken to the hospital to be checked out. One of the kids showed signs of abuse, police said.
"One of my friends down the street went in there one time to fix a problem with their sink," recalled John Harkness, who lives next door. "And he said it was a mess in that kitchen."
Two adults from the home are now facing charges for injury to a child. They were identified as Katherine Petric and Lisa Olsen.
Billy Hawkins, Joshua Olsen, Micheal Olsen, Jacob Olsen and Alexis Ashley were also charged with endangering a child.
Child Protective Services confirmed the children are now in foster care.
