CBP: Cocaine, heroin and fentanyl valued at more than $2.2 million found hidden in vehicle at border crossing

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CPB), Office of Field Operations officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry found Cocaine, heroin and fentanyl valued at more than $2.2 million found hidden in a 2016 GMC Yukon at the Del Rio Port of Entry.

What we know:

CBP says on March 10, a vehicle being driven by a 32-year-old female U.S. citizen was flagged for a secondary inspection and following a canine and nonintrusive inspection system, officers discovered packages containing 117.33 pounds of suspected cocaine, 23.14 pounds of suspected heroin, and 11.5 pounds of suspected fentanyl hidden within the vehicle. CPB says the narcotics have a combined estimated street value of $2,279,351.

"This triple threat seizure of three powerful hard narcotics reflects the firm resolve of our officers and their tireless dedication to our border security mission. This load will not reach American streets and will not inflict pain and death on our communities," said Port Director Lilliana Flores, Del Rio Port of Entry in a release.

The vehicle and narcotics were seized by CBP and Homeland Security Investigations special agents arrested the driver and are investigating the seizure.
