Car chased by Mesquite PD crashes into school bus

A driver trying to get away from police crashed into a school bus in East Dallas on Thursday.

The crash happened before 4 p.m. on Skillman Street near Abrams Road.

There were students from a Dallas ISD elementary school on the bus when the crash occurred. Some of them were shaken up, but there were no reports of any serious injuries.

The car chase started in Mesquite around I-30 and Galloway. It wasn’t immediately known what started the chase -- but it did reach high speeds on LBJ Freeway.

Two people who were inside the car have been arrested.
