DALLAS - The tallest cowboy in the world returned to his post in Fair Park Friday.
Big Tex, the official mascot of the State Fair of Texas, was hoisted into to position right next to the Cotton Bowl Stadium around 10 a.m.
This is his 66th year greeting people at the fair with a friendly wave and his traditional, "Howdy, folks!"
Big Tex is wearing same Dickies wardrobe as last year but with one new accessory -- a pair of red and blue Lucchese boots.
The State Fair of Texas kicks off in one week. It runs from Sept. 28 to Oct. 21.
