Alleged drunk driver flees after leaving two injured

Dallas police are looking for a possible drunk driver after a hit and run crash that injured a man and a child.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. Monday in Northwest Dallas near Harry Hines Boulevard and Walnut Hill Lane.

The impact caused the alleged drunk driver’s stolen truck to flip and landed on its roof.

Witnesses who live nearby heard the crash, called 911 and say the driver of the truck crawled out with a beer can and limped away from the scene.

At least one person who confronted the driver of the truck says he smelled like alcohol.

"He kind of was dazed. You could tell that he was not really with it,” said witness Marvina Wallace. “He was kind of looking around a little bit. And once all the other people started coming out, he just took off quicker than I expected, because he was limping."

Police say the man and child in the other vehicle were sent to a local hospital but are in good condition.
