7-year-old shot during road rage incident in Dallas
DALLAS - Dallas police have arrested a 27-year-old man accused of opening fire during a road rage incident, leading to a child being shot by return gunfire.
The shooting happened just after 8:45 p.m. Friday, when officers were called to the 3500 block of Julius Schepps Fwy.
Police were told that the drivers of a white Chevy Tahoe and a silver Mustang were involved in a road rage incident.
The driver of the Tahoe, Jaceob Soto, shot at the Mustang, and the driver of the Mustang – who said he was in “fear for his life” - fired back, hitting a 7-year-old girl.
The girl was taken to Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Soto was arrested and charged with aggravated assault – discharging a firearm.
The driver of the Mustang, who has not been identified, will have a charge of injury to a child go before a grand jury.
