4 hurt in crash involving Dallas fire engine

Four people were hurt when a Dallas fire truck rear-ended a car early Thursday morning.

The car was turning into a convenience store around 1:45 a.m. at Loop 12 and Jim Miller Road in southeast Dallas. The fire truck was returning to its station and did not have its lights and sirens on.

Officials said the car slowed to turn into the store’s parking lot and the fire engine rear-ended it. The car spun 180 degrees and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

Three women and a man were taken to the hospital. The firefighters were not hurt.
