2 stranded motorists killed on LBJ Freeway

Two people are dead because of a crash on a busy Dallas highway overnight.

It happened around 2 a.m. Thursday on westbound Interstate 635 near the Dallas High Five. Police said a car stalled in the Coit Road exit lane.

One passing car swerved left to avoid the broken down vehicle. The SUV behind it reacted by swerving right. The SUV ended up hitting the stalled car and pushing it forward.

Two people were standing in front of the disabled car and both were killed.

One victim was a 35-year-old man. The other second appeared to be a teenager but did not have an ID. Police are still trying to identify him.

Investigators believe the crash was an accident. They do not expect to file any criminal charges.
