12-year-old hit by car in Tarrant County driveway

WILLOW PARK, Texas - A 12-year-old North Texas girl died Monday night after being hit by a car in a driveway.

Police said it happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Deer Pond Drive in Willow Park, which is west of Fort Worth.

Emily Wade was rushed to Cook Children’s Medical Center but died from her injuries.

According to her family’s GoFundMe.com page, she was a vibrant seventh grader in Aledo who was full of life and very creative.

Police said the driver who hit her was a family friend who is cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed.
