Last DAY of summer! (OK, according to the calendar. FALL will arrive next week!)

Another "repeat" with highs in the mid 90s (fewer upper 90s), a decent south breeze and the HEAT INDEX over 100. This afternoon a disturbance will move in from east Texas and kick off a few showers...with 20% coverage SE counties and 10% elsewhere. There may also be a few storms again this evening for areas WELL WEST of FTW.

Fall starts tomorrow with another day in the mid 90s and a heat index near 100. HIGH PRESSURE starts to build in aloft and kill off any rain chances.

As the high moves into the eastern U.S., we'll get a southeast flow off the Gulf this weekend into Monday. That may push temps down into the lower 90s but also keep humidity high.

By Tuesday, we'll be watching a slow moving cold front approach from the west. That's where better shower/storm chances will lie. Those will likely spread in mid-week (Wed-Thu) with some potentially heavier rain.

Highs in the 80s will start to become common and linger into late week. As for nice fall air? We may have to wait until the front clears Friday or even Saturday.
