Dixon leaving Pittsburgh to take over at TCU, his alma mater
Jamie Dixon is leaving Pittsburgh to take over as head coach at his alma mater.
Scott Barnes, the athletic director at Pitt, said Monday that Dixon is going to TCU. There was no official confirmation from TCU, which a week earlier fired Trent Johnson.
After leading Pittsburgh to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances the past 13 seasons, Dixon will take over a program that hasn't been to the tournament since 1998. He was a senior guard for the last TCU team to win an NCAA game in 1987.
Johnson won eight Big 12 Conference games in four seasons.
