Triple-digit temps Saturday, cooler temps Sunday
Today looks to be the hottest day of the year thus far with what appears to be the first triple digit day for DFW.
Luckily a cold front comes through Saturday night which will bring very low rain chances and a slight relief in the temperatures on Sunday.
The city of Dallas has opened three cooling centers where residents can pick up water or simply escape the heat:
Riverchon Park Recreation Center, 3505 Maple Avenue
MLK Community Center, 2922 Martin Luther King Boulevard
West Dallas Multipurpose Center, 2828 Fish Trap Road
Homeless shelters in Dallas (5302 Harry Hines Blvd) and Fort Worth (1855 E. Lancaster) will be open seven days a week.
The Salvation Army also opened several cooling stations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area open weekdays.
