Teen suspect charged with manslaughter after 15-year-old dies
GARLAND - 17-year-old charged with manslaughter after shooting Garland teen
Charges against a 17-year-old have been upgraded after the teen died that he’s accused of shooting.
Garland police arrested 17-year-old Andy Erives after they say he shot a 15-year-old in the head Tuesday night at home in the 3700 block of Burning Tree Lane.
After the 15-year-old died on Thursday, Erives’ charges were upgraded to manslaughter.
A witness told police they were hanging out at a house when Erives pointed a gun at the victim and shot him. He was arrested near the scene.
Police haven't said where Erivas got the gun or what led to the shooting. He was originally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
