Officer pinned in LBJ Freeway crash
DALLAS - A Dallas police officer is recovering in the hospital after being trapped inside his squad car in a crash.
The officer was working at a construction on the LBJ Freeway near Greenville Avenue around 1 a.m. Friday.
A man in a red Impala crashed into the officer’s squad car, which was behind traffic cones with its emergency lights on.
The officer was pinned inside his vehicle. He was hurt, but is expected to be okay.
The driver was not hurt. Police said he passed a field sobriety test, so was only issued a ticket.
