Live updates: Kristi Noem facing House Democrats in day 2 of testimony

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem returned for a second straight day of testimony in a House Judiciary hearing on Wednesday.

Noem is now facing questions from House Democrats on ICE arrests, warrantless operations and the Trump administration’s mass deportation campaign.

What to watch for in Wednesday's House Judiciary hearing

FOX News reported that Noem is entering a House Judiciary hearing that includes Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas., setting up another long session over immigration enforcement and executive power.

According to FOX News, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., who is likely the committee’s top progressive, has previously called for stricter oversight of DHS and has been critical of Noem’s management of ICE as it carries out immigration enforcement operations in cities including Minneapolis and New Orleans.

Noem is also expected to face questions from Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa., Rep. Henry "Hank" Johnson, D-Ga., and Rep. Becca Balint, D-Vt.

FOX News noted that other members on the 44-member panel include Rep. Ben Cline, R-Va., Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., Rep. Brad Knott, R-N.C., and Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis.
