On their Facebook page, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office shared a photo Deputy Don Apperson took at Dobbin's Middle School.
The photo shows a bucket of tan and green "Army men" figures in a large bucket found at the Dobbin's Middle School front office. An American flag sticks out of the bucket.
Underneath the bucket, a paper explained the idea behind the toys.
"Free. Take one home and place it next to your bed. Each night say a prayer for a member of our Armed Forces to return home safely," the note read.
"What a great lesson to teach our children," the sheriff's office said.
The comments on the photo were filled with people talking about how good the simple idea was, as well as saying where they've seen the "Army men" pop up.
