A school bus was involved in a crash in Forney, east of Dallas.

It happened just before 8 a.m. near North Forney High School. The bus hit a minivan that was turning onto FM 548 from Reeder Road.

"Preliminary investigation reveals the driver of the minivan failed to yeild the right of way to the school bus and pulled out in front of the bus. The minivan was struck in the driver side," said Sgt. Lonny Haschel with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the van had to be rescued and was taken to the hospital by CarFlite. Three students taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were about 30 students on the bus at the time. They were all high school students, Forney ISD said.
