Family mourns woman killed on Dallas freeway
A young woman’s life was cut short Tuesday night when she was struck and killed in Dallas. Now family members have questions about how 22-year-old Josie Schlosser died.
According to police reports, the Garland woman got out of her disabled car on Interstate 635 between Skillman Street and Greenville Avenue. Then she was hit twice as she tried to cross the highway.
Schlosser’s relatives are devastated.
“She’s gone. She’s not coming back and I miss her. I just want my Josie back,” said Kelly Schlosser, her aunt.
Family members said police gave them a different version of events.
They believe Schlosser was rear-ended by a white SUV and parked too close to a retaining wall, so she climbed out of the passenger side to get the other driver’s insurance information. That’s when she was hit.
Dallas police are still investigating. The other drivers who were involved did stop to help and were not arrested.
