No shots fired, no one hurt at Dallas International School, police say

Police are investigating a threat at Dallas International School on Wednesday morning.

What we know:

The Dallas Police Department said it received a call around 8 a.m. on Wednesday about an "active shooter on foot."

However, officers determined no shots were fired, and no one was injured at the school's Churchill Campus near Churchill Way and Preston Road.

In a message to parents, the school said a "bomb threat" was called in to the Churchill Campus. All students and staff were safely evacuated to the Cooper Center as a precaution while police investigated.

What's next:

DPD said it has criteria for how 911 calls are classified. An active shooter call means someone reported seeing a person with a gun firing shots.

The department will now follow up to determine who made that call and whether it was false.

Dallas International School encouraged parents to avoid going to the campus while police were investigating and promised to provide updates.
