DETROIT (WJBK) - One little fighter is hoping to have her dreams of a home by Christmas come true.
Meet Daisy. It's been almost a year and this 5-year-old white pit mix still doesn't have her forever home.
"It would mean the world to not only me but this beautiful dog who just wants to be loved," said her foster mom Kara.
Daisy was living at a shelter and given a date - if she wasn't adopted by that date, she would be euthanized. She was just days away from being put down when Kara stepped in.
Since then, she's underwent surgery to have a mast cell tumor removed from her head, but that hasn't dampened her spirits. Kara says should the cancer come back, they will pay full coverage for treatment and surgery.
Kara says she's has been teaching her tricks and doing obedience training, and that Daisy loves to play and cuddle.
"She was a rescue from death row," Kara said. "She is very sweet and super smart. She loves attention and is very treat motivated. She would love to give you lots of love and kisses."
Daisy'd prefer to be the only dog in the home, but does well with certain male dogs. Kara says she can always set up a meet and greet to see how Daisy and other dogs get along.
Anyone interested in giving her a loving home can email Kara at email@example.com.
Here's to hoping she gets her Christmas wish.
