Amazon building new distribution center in Forney

FORNEY, Texas - Amazon is expanding in North Texas by building a new distribution center in Forney.

Construction is underway on the 200,000 square foot space.

It will be in the Gateway development area, near Highway 90 and Gateway Boulevard.       

In a statement, Forney city leaders said they are excited to add Amazon to the list of growing businesses.

Amazon plans to put the center in operation later this year.
