DIY Science: How to make slime

It's the summer of slime and do-it-yourself goo! Michael Clark from Frisco's Sci-Tech Discovery Center joins Good Day to show you how to make your own slime and talk about the safety concerns.
 

Liquid Starch version

1/4 cup of water
1/4 cup of white craft glue (like Elmer’s glue)
1/4 cup of liquid starch (used for clothes)
Food coloring (optional)
Mixing bowl
Mixing spoon

Combine glue and water in mixing bowl. Add 6 drops of food coloring (optional). Add the liquid starch and knead it by hand until it is the desired consistency.


Contact Solution version

1/2 tbsp baking soda
1 tbsp contact solution
4 oz bottle white craft glue
Food coloring (optional)

Combine glue and baking soda in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Add food coloring (optional). Add 1 tbsp liquid starch and knead by hand. To keep the slime from sticking to your hands, coat them in contact solution.


Corn starch version

1 1/2 cups corn starch
4 oz bottle white craft glue
Food coloring (optional)

Combine glue and food coloring in a bowl. Slowly add in corn starch for desired consistency.
