Dallas weather: Low shower chances Saturday into Sunday, shot at widespread rain next week

Low shower chances return Saturday into Sunday morning ahead of rain chances next week.

Saturday Forecast: Highs near 60, chance of showers for some

A chilly start to the day will be followed by mid to high clouds and temperatures near 60 this afternoon.

Low clouds from the Gulf won't arrive for most areas until this evening.

Areas southeast of Dallas may see low clouds after 3-4 p.m. and produce an isolated shower.

A cold front will slip in Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Sunday Forecast: Chilly day, possible light rain

The cold front could bring in some showers behind it Sunday morning,

The best chance is for areas to the east and south of the Metroplex.

Some pockets of our area could see light rain or drizzle through about noon.

The high for Sunday will come just after midnight, and we will be on the chilly side all day.

We will start the day in the 40s and stay there through the day.

7-Day Forecast: Messy week ahead

Timeline:

We will have a storm system cut-off this week and spinning like a top all week in the southwest US.

When you have that, it's hard to tell when it will start moving until you get closer to that day.

For now, Monday looks like we briefly dry out behind the cold front. We will be chilly in the morning and should have enough sun to return to the 50s.

The front starts retreating on Tuesday. Nights will be above freezing and for now we will say that we will be in the upper 50s during the day time. Showers are possible, especially in areas west and south.

Right now, it appears that the highest coverage of rain and some storms will be in the Thursday-Friday time frame.

Once the system heads out of Friday, we should dry out for a couple of days and have a quiet start to February.
