New book looks at winning in the Middle East

American policy in the Middle East remains confusing and sometimes contradictory. Dr. Jeff Engel, the director of SMU's Center for Presidential History, is the co-author of a new book titled "The Last Card." It details the complexities of politics in the Middle East and looks back at a historic decision made by one former president that has the U.S. still fighting in Iraq.
