Southwest Airlines charging for checked baggage

May 28 is the day Southwest Airlines starts to charge for checked baggage. This represents a significant change for the Dallas-based carrier. For decades, much of the airline's identity was built around the concept of two bags fly free, but that is no more. Southwest announced earlier this year it needs to end the popular policy to boost revenue to make up for recent financial losses.
