Woman shot by Irving police after threatening officers with knife, department says

Irving police shot and wounded a woman who authorities said was armed with a knife and advancing toward officers during a domestic disturbance call on Friday evening.

Irving police were called around 5:50 p.m. to the 300 block of Rolston Road, as officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman standing in the street with a knife and making threats.

Officers gave her verbal commands, but she did not comply and continued moving toward them.

Officers provided aid until Irving firefighters arrived and took the woman to a local hospital.

No officers were injured.
