IRVING, Texas - Irving police shot and wounded a woman who authorities said was armed with a knife and advancing toward officers during a domestic disturbance call on Friday evening.
What we know:
Irving police were called around 5:50 p.m. to the 300 block of Rolston Road, as officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman standing in the street with a knife and making threats.
Officers gave her verbal commands, but she did not comply and continued moving toward them.
One officer used a less-lethal weapon, police said, but it did not stop the woman. A second officer then fired their duty weapon, striking her.
Officers provided aid until Irving firefighters arrived and took the woman to a local hospital.
No officers were injured.

Irving police will conduct criminal and administrative investigations, as is standard after an officer-involved shooting.
The Dallas County Public Integrity Unit will also conduct a separate investigation.
