Two Dallas firefighters hospitalized with burns from house fire
DALLAS - Two Dallas firefighters were hospitalized with burn injuries Sunday morning after responding to a house fire in the Cedar Crest area of Dallas, fire officials said.

What we know:
Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched at 6:17 a.m. to a single-story home in the 4600 block of Wadsworth Drive. Upon arrival, crews encountered advanced flames already breaking through the roof of the residence.
Firefighters initiated defensive operations and battled the blaze for nearly two hours, officially declaring the fire extinguished at 7:58 a.m.
During the response, two firefighters suffered non-life-threatening burn injuries to their lower extremities. Both were taken to a local hospital. One firefighter was expected to be discharged Sunday, while the second will be admitted for further treatment, according to the department.
None of the three residents were home when the fire broke out, but they arrived at the scene shortly after. No other injuries were reported.

Dallas Fire-Rescue notified the American Red Cross to assist the displaced residents, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
