Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick will seek re-election

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick made his bid for re-election official on Thursday.

The Republican will seek a third term and has said it would be his last if he wins.

Patrick will face at least one GOP primary challenge from a lesser-known candidate.

On the Democrat side, Houston businessman Mike Collier said he will run again.

Collier lost to Patrick by 5 points in the 2018 election.
