Easter Weekend Forecast

Widespread showers and thunderstorms return Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday. While Friday will start quiet and mild, scattered afternoon storms will become more widespread by evening.

Some storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds being the primary concern.

On Saturday morning, a cold front will move through the region, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms. While the severe weather threat is low, the risk of flooding will increase. North Texas will dry out and cool off behind the front by Saturday afternoon.

Total rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected across the area, though isolated locations could see totals between 3 and 3.5 inches.

Easter Sunday will be cooler and pleasant, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. This dry stretch is expected to last well into next week.
