At the "top of the temperature mountain" (but the descent will be very, very, very slow!)
As the large HIGH pressure system sits over Texas, temps will peak today and drop a degree or two headed into the weekend. Unfortunately, we'll trade off the heat for some higher humidity, so it will end up feeling the same, with the heat index between about 103 and 107 most days.
Just a few PM clouds today through Saturday, however as moisture increases this weekend, low shower chances will brew for eastern counties. Those 10% shower chances will expand next week as a weak disturbance aloft works into our area. Between that, and increased Gulf moisture...we should be able to drop highs just under 100 by early next week!
