Texas Ag Commissioner weighs in on beef prices

Beef and veal prices have increased by nearly 15% over the last year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The price surge is due to the lowest cattle numbers in 75 years and a lack of supply that will take time to rebuild. Texas officials predict beef prices won't truly drop until 2027, even with federal efforts to open more grazing land.
