President Trump Honors Charlie Kirk With Freedom Medal
President Donald Trump posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, to conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a White House ceremony on what would have been his 32nd birthday. Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot last month while speaking at a university event. Trump praised Kirk as a "fearless warrior for liberty" and a "martyr" who inspired a generation of conservatives, crediting him with helping to mobilize key support in the 2024 election. Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, accepted the award in the Rose Garden.
