Former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel was briefly hospitalized Monday after having a bad reaction to a change in his prescription medication.
In an Instagram story, Manziel wrote he had a "scary moment" because of a reaction to a medication he takes for his bipolar disorder.
"Thank you for your concern and kind messages. Unfortunately, I had a reaction to an increased dosage in Lithium which I take for my bipolar disorder. It was a scary moment and I'm especially grateful for the staff at the hospital and all that they've done in the last 24 hours," he wrote.
His representative says he was checked out at a hospital in the Houston area and is headed home.
Manziel revealed in February he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was taking medication to help him out.
Manziel has been working to make a comeback in the NFL after a brief two season stint with the Cleveland Browns. He's currently a free agent and playing in the new The Spring League.
