HOUSTON (AP) — Mak Sexton threw for two touchdowns, linebacker Mac McCaskill returned a fumble for a score and Cedar Park beat first-time finalist Frisco Lone Star 22-6 to win the Class 5A Division II championship Saturday.
Tommy Lavine had nine catches for 85 yards and a touchdown and Jack Grimm added eight for 66 yards with another score as Cedar Park (16-0) won its second title in four years.
Jason Shelley threw for 227 yards for Lone Star (14-2), but his fumble on a 14-yard sack led to McCaskill's 20-yard return late in the first half to give Cedar Park a 14-3 lead. McCaskill had two of the six sacks of Shelley.
Sexton was 20 of 30 for 169 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown to toss to Lavine for the final margin early in the fourth quarter.
