A water main break is causing big problems in West Dallas.

The problem is near Fort Worth and Sylvan avenues. The streets are flooding and a traffic light is out.

The force of the water actually pushed aside a manhole cover on Fort Worth Avenue. A woman who was driving through the area got stuck in the whole hole because she couldn’t see it with all the rushing water.

“I mean, I saw all the water and I don’t think it had been called in at this point” said Teresa Jackson, who was heading to work. “What a day. What a start to the day.”

Dallas water utility crews are at the scene, but still waiting on heavy equipment to find and shut off the valve.

All traffic is being diverted north on Sylvan Avenue.
