Two people were killed Friday when a police pursuit ended in a wreck in Midlothian.

A DPS spokesman said Ellis County Sheriff’s officials spotted a stolen vehicle out of Waxahachie and began pursuit. It wasn’t immediately clear how long the pursuit lasted.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash – a white van and a pickup truck.

A Waxahachie police official said the white van was the stolen vehicle and it crashed into the pickup head-on. The white van was severely burned and damaged from a fire that occurred. There was one person in both vehicles.

There were a total of three law enforcement units chasing the suspect when the crash occurred.
