Emergency crews were on the scene of a train derailment Sunday morning north of Collinsville following a collision involving a vehicle, authorities said.

The crash happened around 5:20 a.m. along U.S. Highway 377 near County Line Church Road. First responders from Collinsville Fire Department Station 71 dispatched to the scene reported a vehicle had crashed with a train, leading to the derailment and causing injuries.

Details on the number of people injured or the severity of their conditions were not immediately available.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office and local fire departments are helping the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol in securing the area and evaluating the wreckage.

Officials urged motorists to avoid the area and warned of potential traffic disruptions along U.S. 377. Authorities requested that the public stay away from the derailment site to allow emergency personnel and equipment clear access to perform rescue and clearing operations.
