Dallas Police are trying to determine whether speed and alcohol were factors in a crash, that involved an off-duty police officer.

It happened around 2:00 a.m. Saturday, at the intersection of Northwest Highway and Abrams Road, in Northeast Dallas.

Police say the officer was in an SUV that was waiting at a red light, along with another car.

And that's when the driver of a third vehicle slammed into the SUV, pushing it into the other car.

One person was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be ok.

The off-duty officer was not hurt.

The driver who caused the wreck is in police custody.
