Man wanted, charged with murder of pregnant woman, 18, at northwest Houston hotel

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Police say a 31-year-old man is wanted for the murder of a pregnant 18-year-old woman who was found shot to death at a northwest Houston hotel.

Justin Jerel Herron, 31, is charged with capital murder in the death of Patra Perkins.

Officers performed a welfare check at a hotel near Guhn and the Northwest Freeway around 8:40 p.m. Sunday after receiving information about a possible murder. Police found a woman who had been fatally shot.

Police originally named Herron as a person of interest, but say he is now a suspect. Police say Herron rented the room on August 2.
