A man was shot and killed Monday afternoon in front of a home in Arlington.

Police got the call around 3:40 p.m. from a neighbor saying he heard a gunshot on Rosarita Road in south Arlington, near Debbie Lane and Matlock Road. Officers found a man with bullet wounds in a driveway. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

The medical examiner ID'd the victim as Juriah Fields, 29. Investigators have no video, no witnesses and no suspects in Fields' shooting death.

“At this point, it’s real early in the investigation. We don’t know what the motive would be,” Cook said.

Police say one of the bullets ricocheted off of a car parked near the home and left a bullet hole in another home’s garage.

“No one else was injured but we’re trying to kind of piece together a timeline on what exactly happened and where the shooting actually occurred,” Cook said.

The killing was the third homicide in the past 24 hours in Arlington. None of the shootings are believed to be connected.
