Family escapes fire in Northwest Dallas

A family in Northwest Dallas escaped harm when their house caught fire Friday night.  Fire investigators say the fire began around 11 p.m. at the home in the 4600 block of North Lindhurst Avenue. Fires investigators say the woman at the home helped her husband and two children escape before calling 9-1-1. 

Neighbors came out of their homes to observe as firefighters battled the tremendous blaze. A neighbor, John Cantrell, said, "It's a tremendous loss for them and the neighbors here. We just met them and their house is gone."  Dallas firefighters spent the night putting out hotspots.
